Comments:

League position: 18th Southampton avoided completing a run of ten consecutive home games in the top division without a win for the first time since December 1969. The Saints had now scored two or more goals in both of their home games in the Premier League under new manager Mark Hughes; as many as in their last 14 games at St Mary's under Mauricio Pellegrino. Dušan Tadić became the third Serbian player to score 20 or more goals in the Premier League after Savo Milošević (29) and Branislav Ivanović (22).

Comments:

League position: 12th AFC Bournemouth had now conceded at least two goals in each of their last five games in the Premier League (now 11 games without a clean sheet). The Cherries had now conceded at least 60 goals in all three of their seasons in the Premier League. Josh King became the first AFC Bournemouth player to score at Southampton in any competition since 6 October 1987 and in a league game since 24 February 1960.
