Comments:

League One Preston North End had reached the 5th round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2008 when Premier League Portsmouth won 1-0 at Deepdale. Current PNE boss Simon Grayson was manager of Leeds United when they knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup at the 3rd round stage in 2010. North End have now scored in 26 of their last 27 games in all competitions. They had lost just one league game at home since 21 December 2013.

Comments:

Manchester United have now lost only one of their 19 games in all competitions since 2 November 2014. They have lost just one of their last 43 FA Cup matches against lower division opposition and not lost at a lower division venue since their visit to AFC Bournemouth in 1984. Wayne Rooney has now scored seven goals in his last eight FA Cup games but this was his first goal in 2015 in all competitions. United have now been drawing at half-time in ten of their last 11 away games in all competitions. After eliminating two League One clubs (Yeovil Town and Preston North End) and one League Two club (Cambridge United) in this season's competition, United would now face holders Arsenal in the Quarter-final at Old Trafford.
