Kick-off: 5.00pm This game was due to be played on 21 March 2020 but was postponed due to the EFL’s decision to suspend all games following the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Due to the 5.00pm kick-off, this was the first-ever game in English league football to be played in the month of July. Preston North End became the first club to play 5,000 Football League games. They surpassed Notts County's previous record of 4,986 games with their visit to fellow founder members Blackburn Rovers on 11 January 2020. PNE's first-ever league game was against Burnley at Deepdale on 8 September 1888. This was also North End's 2,000th game in the second tier (League Division Two and League Championship).
