Comments:

League position: 5th The club's analyst department confirmed that Southend United's opening goal should be credited to Jason Demetriou (not Marc Antoine Fortuné, as quoted by some sources). The match report on their official web site stated: "Marc-Antoine Fortuné created enough space inside the area for a shot which deflected towards Demetriou. His slight flick-on diverted the ball onto the foot of the post and across the line, with the linesman furiously waving his flag to indicate a goal." Similarly, the EFL Dubious Goals Committee ruled on the following: - The 45th-minute goal scored by Southend United should be credited to Jason Demetriou.
