Comments:

League position: 16th Joselu had now scored all six of his goals in the Premier League for Newcastle United at St James' Park. Since the start of previous season, only Brighton and Hove Albion (five) had scored more own goals in the Premier League than the Magpies (four). They had now lost both of their opening two home games of a Premier League season for a second time; also 2003-04 versus Manchester United and Birmingham City.

Comments:

League position: 2nd Eden Hazard had now scored 70 goals for Chelsea in the Premier League; only Frank Lampard (147) and Didier Drogba (104) had scored more. Maurizio Sarri became the fifth Blues manager to win his opening three Premier League games; also Antonio Conte, Carlo Ancelotti, Guus Hiddink and José Mourinho. Chelsea had now won five of their last six away games in the Premier League (the other game being the defeat at Newcastle United in May).
