League position: 6th Arsenal had now lost their first five away league games of a year for the first time since 1925. The Gunners had now lost five consecutive away league games for the first time since December 1984; a run which ended with a win at Newcastle United in League Division One. With five games still to play, they had now lost 11 games so far in this Premier League season to equal the most league defeats in a season during the reign of manager Arsène Wenger (11 in 2005-06). Alexandre Lacazette's goal was the 100th that Arsenal had scored in all competitions in this season.
