Comments:

After Italy and Belgium, Netherlands became the third nation to qualify for the knockout stages of Euro 2020 after two group games. They became the first confirmed group winners. They had now won their last 22 games after scoring the opening goal. Denzel Dumfries became the second player to score in his first two UEFA European Championship finals appearances for the Netherlands after Ruud van Nistelrooy against Germany and Czech Republic in 2004. Netherlands were awarded a penalty after ten minutes following a VAR review for a foul.

Comments:

Austria failed in their attempt to win consecutive games at major tournaments for the first time since the FIFA World Cup finals in 1982. They had now failed to score in four of their last five games. Austria had now lost five of their eight games at UEFA European Championship finals (won one).
