Comments:

League position: 15th Middlesbrough had now scored only 11 goals in their home games so far in this Premier League season; the lowest total in the division. Boro were now without a win in their last eight Premier League games (lost four); their longest winless run in the division since February 2009 (14 games). Five of their 25 games so far in this Premier League season had now ended in goalless draws. Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka said: "We are competing well against really good teams and if we play this way against teams who are fighting like us, then we can beat them."

Comments:

League position: 7th Everton failed to score for the first time in their last eight Premier League games. This was the Toffees first goalless draw since their visit to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on 13 April 2016. They were now unbeaten in their last eight Premier League games for the first time since December 2013. Everton manager Ronald Koeman said: "It was difficult to create because they have really good defensive organisation and they were a bit more aggressive to try to score after the second-half though we were in control."
