League position: 6th With this win, Manchester United became the first club to win a total 2,000 points in the Premier League. Their all-time goal difference in the competition was now + 1,001. The Red Devils were now on their longest unbeaten run in the Premier League (16 games) since March 2013. United had now kept four consecutive clean sheets in all competitions for the first time since November 2015. Antonio Valencia was booked in the second minute of added time in the second-half. Manchester United Jose Mourinho said: "We are not a team scoring lots of goals so it is important to keep the clean sheets. I am really happy with the performance."

League position: 12th Watford failed in their attempt to win three consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since December 2015. The Hornets had now conceded at least two goals in six of their last eight away games in the Premier League. They had now failed to score in four of their last six away games in the Premier League. Watford manager Walter Mazzarri said: "The important thing that we have to avoid is losing too many balls in the midfield. This is what cost us the result today."
