Comments:

League position: 5th Manchester United now had their their lowest ever points total (37) after 23 games in Premier League season. They had now won only one of their last five Premier League games at Old Trafford. Only 17 league goals had been scored at Old Trafford so far in this season (12 for and five against); fewer than any ground in England's top four divisions. Only three goals had now been scored in the first-half of the 11 Premier League games at Old Trafford in this season. Eight of those 11 games have been goalless at the interval. Memphis Depay is the only United player to score a first-half goal at Old Trafford in the Premier League so far in this season. David De Gea made his 150th Premier League appearance.

Comments:

League position: 8th Charlie Austin scored after only eight minutes of his Southampton debut. The Saints had lost their last four Premier League away games. They had now won all three Premier League games since keeper Fraser Forster's return from injury, and kept clean sheets in all three games.
