Comments:

League position: 3rd With six games still to play, Manchester United had now reached 65 points in this Premier League season, one more than the entire 2013-14 campaign. Since losing at Manchester City on 2 November 2014, United had now suffered just two defeats in 22 Premier League games (won 16 and drawn four). United had now taken 43 points from their home games in the Premier League in this season; four more than any other team.

Comments:

League position: 4th Manchester City had now lost six of their last eight games in all competitions and lost consecutive Premier League games for the first time since October 2010. They had now lost four consecutive away games in the Premier League for the first time since September 2006. Sergio Aguero's second goal was his 100th for City in all competitions, now including seven in seven Premier League games against Manchester United. Having won the four previous Manchester derbies, City were attempting to win a fifth consecutive derby for the first time in their history in this game. They would also have become the first team to win five Premier League games in a row against United. The last time City conceded four goals in a Premier League game was in the 4-3 defeat at Manchester United on 20 September 2009, a game remembered for Michael Owen's dramatic last-gasp winner. The reigning champions had not now kept a clean sheet in their last nine league and cup games.
