Comments:

League position: 5th Manchester United avoided completing a run of seven consecutive home league games without keeping a clean sheet for the first time since 1972 in League Division One (eight games). David De Gea became the seventh goalkeeper to keep 100 clean sheets in the Premier League for a club, and the second for United after Peter Schmeichel. The Red Devils had now failed to score in consecutive games at Old Trafford in all competitions for the first time since December 2015 against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League and West Ham United in the Premier League. This was the eighth time in the history of the Premier League that a team made three substitutions in the first-half and the first since Burnley at Newcastle United on New Year’s Day in 2015.

Comments:

League position: 1st Liverpool remained without a win in their last eight away games in the Premier League against teams that started the day in the top four. In their 27th game, this was the second time that the Reds had failed to score in this Premier League season (also goalless draw with Manchester City on 7 October 2018). They had now been involved in consecutive goalless draws in games in all competitions for the first time since April 2013 (versus West Ham United and Reading, both in the Premier League). Liverpool had now conceded eight goals in their away league games so far in this season; fewer than any other team in the top four divisions. In this game, Jordan Henderson made his 300th appearance in the Premier League and the 400th appearance of his club career in all competitions.
