The Red Devils had now kept only two clean sheets in their home games so far in this Premier League season; fewer than any other team. United had won 16 of their preceding 18 games in this Premier League when they had scored the first goal (lost one).

League position: 4th Chelsea remained without a win in their nine away games in the Premier League at their big six opponents since beating Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on 20 August 2017 (lost six). The Blues had now won two of their 12 games so far in this Premier League season after conceding the opening goal (lost seven). They were now without a win in three consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since September 2016.
