League position: 2nd Jesse Lingard became the first Manchester United substitute to score two goals in a Premier League game since Chris Smalling in February 2015, also against Burnley. United now had nine goals scored by substitutes so far in this Premier League season; more than any other team. The Red Devils remained unbeaten in 17 home league games on Boxing Day since a 3-0 defeat against Liverpool in 1978 (won 14).
