Sadio Mane had now scored five goals in his five Premier League appearances at Anfield for Liverpool. Roberto Firmino's strike was the Reds' 100th goal in 2016 in all competitions.

On the same day, Liverpool beat West Ham United 6-0 at Anfield. They had lost only one of their preceding Premier League games (won four) and kept clean sheets in the last three. Sadio Mane's opener was the 200th goal that the Hornets had conceded in the Premier League.
