Comments:

League position: 6th Liverpool had now taken 101 points from their last 53 games in the Premier League (won 30, lost 12). The Reds avoided failing to keep a clean sheet in a club record nine consecutive home games in the Premier League for the first time since 1999. Thiago Alcântara scored his first goal since playing for Bayern München against 1.FSV Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga on 1 February 2020.

Comments:

League position: 16th Since their win against Liverpool in January at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton had now lost 13 of their 17 games in the Premier League. The Saints had now conceded 40 goals in their 18 away games so far in this Premier League season; more than any other team currently in the division. They failed in their attempt to win both games in a season in the top division against the reigning champions for the first time.
