Comments:

League position: 5th As his 17 year career with Liverpool drew to a close, Steven Gerrard made his final appearance at Anfield in this game prior to his move to Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy at the end of the season. The Reds legend had now made 709 appearances in all competitions for the club (only Ian Callaghan and Jamie Carragher had made more) and scored 185 goals (only Ian Rush, Roger Hunt, Gordon Hodgson and Billy Liddell had scored more). He had scored 69 Premier League goals at Anfield; a total only bettered by Robbie Fowler with 85. Simon Mignolet and Jordan Henderson made their 53rd appearances of the 2014-15 campaign in all competitions, more than any other Premier League player. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Liverpool’s goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday 16th May 2015 has been confirmed as an Adam Lallana goal. (Circular 29 – 21st May 2015)

Comments:

League position: 12th Crystal Palace had now won two league games at Anfield. Alan Pardew played in the first (a 2-1 success on 2 November 1991 in League Division One) and was their manager in this match. It was his first win at Anfield as a manager at his eighth attempt. The Eagles’ victory ended a run of four defeats in a row that had followed a streak of four wins. Crystal Palace had now gone 13 Premier League matches without keeping a clean sheet.
