Comments:

League position: 5th Mohamed Salah became the 20th player to score against Chelsea in the Premier League having previously played for them in the competition. Mohamed Salah became the first player to score 15 goals in a season for Liverpool since Luis Suarez (31) and Daniel Sturridge (24) in 2013-14. Liverpool had now conceded only two goals in their last nine Premier League games at Anfield. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp said: “I think I need a little bit of time to be happy. I’m happy about the performance, how we took the game. It’s a little bit more difficult when Chelsea played with eight defenders more or less. You need a bit of luck and we didn’t have it again. Of course, if you’re at home 1-0 up, you want the three points, that’s my problem at the moment."

Comments:

League position: 3rd Willian scored only 144 seconds after coming off the bench; the fastest goal by a substitute so far in this Premier League season. Willian became the fifth Brazilian to score 20 goals in the Premier League (also Philippe Coutinho [37], Juninho [29], Robert Firmino [24] and Oscar [21]). This was Chelsea's first draw in an away game in the Premier League since their visit to Burnley on 12 February 2017. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said: “I think we played in a really good way. We had a good tactical plan and it was difficult for Liverpool to make chances to score. It was a tactical decision, especially in the first-half, to be very solid and then to try to be dangerous in possession. The game changed in the second-half. We dominated the game and created many chances to score. Liverpool was lucky to score and then to draw.”
