Comments:

League position: 7th Liverpool had now lost five consecutive home games in all competitions for the first time in their history. The Reds remained without a home win in the Premier League since the visit of Tottenham Hotspur on 16 December 2020; longer than any other team currently in the division. The reigning champions had now taken 43 points from their 27 games so far in this Premier League season; 36 points fewer than at the same stage of the previous season.

Comments:

League position: 4th Chelsea had now conceded two goals and remained unbeaten in their ten games in all competitions under recently appointed manager Thomas Tuchel. All five goals that Mason Mount had now scored so far in this Premier League season had been scored in away games. In the form table over the last six games in the Premier League, only leaders Manchester City (18) had taken more points than the Blues (14). Timo Werner scored after 24 minutes but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.
