League position: 4th This was Liverpool’s first defeat in in their last 69 home games in the Premier League (won 55) since the visit of Crystal Palace in April 2017. It became the second-longest such run in the top division after Chelsea’s 86-game record from February 2004 to October 2008 in the Premier League. The Reds had now failed to score in four consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since May 2000. Following their 7-0 win at Crystal Palace on 19 December 2020, they had now taken three points or fewer from five consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since May 2000.
