Comments:

League position: 2nd Sadio Mané became the third player after Robbie Fowler in 1994-95 and Daniel Sturridge in 2013-14 to score in each of Liverpool's their first three games of a Premier League season. The Reds had now kept four consecutive clean sheets at Anfield in the Premier League for the first time since September 2013. Only Manchester United (ten) had now scored more Premier League goals in this season than Liverpool (eight). Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp said: "After midweek games you have to reach the mountain immediately. You really feel it is intense, we wanted to force ourselves to be strong physically and that is what we were. We were really well organised. If you give Arsenal space and time you lose before the game starts."

Comments:

League position: 16th With one win and two defeats, Arsenal had now made their worse three-game start to a Premier League season since 2011-12 (drawn one, lost two). The Gunners had now lost nine of their last 14 away games in the Premier League (won four). They had now failed to score in consecutive away games in the Premier League for the first time since April 2014. Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: "Mentally it was difficult. A very disappointing performance. It was disastrous. The result is a consequence of the performance. It was not good enough. We were beaten everywhere physically and in the end we made it easier for them. We have done recently well in the big games. That is why today is even more disappointing.”
