With this win, Lincoln City of the National League became only the eighth non-league club to reach 5th round of the FA Cup since the Second World War. The Imps last reached the last 16 of the FA Cup in 1902 when they lost 1-3 against Derby County in front of a new record crowd at Sincil Bank of 16,435. City also reached the last 16 in 1887 and 1890 but have yet to progress to the quarter-finals. Jamie McCombe replaced Alan Power in the eighth minute of added time in the second-half.
