Aged 74 years and 284 days, Miroslav Koubek had now become the oldest-ever manager to lead a team in a game at a FIFA World Cup finals, only hours after South Africa's Hugo Broos became the new record holder in the tournament's opening game against Mexico (74 years and 62 days). Miroslav's title would last for just three days though as he would be surpassed by Dick Advocaat of Curacao against Germany (78 years and 261 days) . Tomáš Souček scored in the 78th minute but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.
