Comments:

Final league position 2016-17: 18th Excluding war-time games, this was Hull City's heaviest-ever home defeat and first time they had conceded seven goals in a home game. The previous worst was a 1-6 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup at Boothferry Park on 11 December 1999. Sam Clucas' goal was the first time that the Tigers had scored in the final game of their five seasons in the Premier League. City had now failed to win any of the 16 games they had played in the month of May in the Premier League (lost 12). Hull City manager Marco Silva said: "It is a difficult decision [regarding his future]. I have something in my mind and need to see what is best for me as well as the club. Now is the moment to analyse to see what is the best decision. We didn't want to finish like we did today. We didn't play, our fans deserve more."

Final league position 2016-17: 2nd Three days after winning 6-1 at Leicester City in the Premier League to equal their biggest ever away league win, this became Tottenham Hotspur's biggest-ever away win in all competitions (they had won 6-0 on four occasions in various cup competitions). Spurs equalled their club record for fewest defeats in a league season (also four in League Division Two in 1919-20) and a new club record for fewest goals conceded (26) in a league season (previously 32 in 1908-09 and 1919-20 in League Division Two). Harry Kane became the second Tottenham Hotspur player to win the top division's Golden Boot award in consecutive seasons after Jimmy Greaves between 1963 and 1965. He also became the second player to score a hat-trick in consecutive away games in the Premier League after Ian Wright for Arsenal in March 1994. Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "I am very pleased with the way we finished the season. It was important for us. Now we are ready to try and take good decisions for the team, try to improve. We are very excited for Wembley next season. It is important to rest, recover. This season was tough. It is important to be fresh. For me, Harry Kane is amazing for the team, scoring goals, and is one of the best strikers in the world."
