Comments:

League position: 15th Victory would have earned Hull City three successive home wins for the first time in the Premier League. Current Hull City boss Steve Bruce had been the victorious manager in each of the last six league and cup meetings between these teams (two for Sunderland and four for the Tigers).

Comments:

League position: 16th Sunderland became only the second team to draw 14 of their first 28 games in a Premier League season. Fulham achieved the same feat in 2010-11 when the finished in 8th position. Following an altercation between the two managers following Jack Rodwell’s booking, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet was sent from the bench to the stands for the remainder of the match. Lee Catermole became the second player in Premier League history to be booked ten or more time in four different seasons. The first was Robbie Savage.
