League position: 15th This was the first win for Hull City against Aston Villa in the Premier League, losing six of the previous seven matches. The previous time the Tigers beat the Villans was a 2-1 win in League Division Two on 29 August 1987 at Boothferry Park. Nikica Jelavic joined Geovanni with 11 as the club’s joint leading all-time Premier League goalscorers. Stephen Quinn replaced Jake Livermore in the fourth minute of added time in the second half. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Hull City’s first goal against Aston Villa on Tuesday 10th February 2015 has been confirmed as a Nikica Jelavic goal. League position: 18th Aston Villa dropped in to the division's bottom three with this defeat. Manager Paul Lambert was sacked the following day after 101 Premier League games in charge which included 50 defeats and 98 goals scored. He became the fifth Premier League manager to depart their post in the space of 46 days. Villa had scored 12 goals in 25 games so far in this Premier League season - the lowest total at this stage of a campaign in the competition's history. Aston Villa had now gone ten league matches without a win and lost their last five away league games. They have now scored just six goals in their last 20 away Premier League games. Since the start of the 2011-12 season, Villa had taken 139 points from 139 league games.
