Earlier in the week, at the age of 24, he died after collapsing during a match playing for non-league Shaw Lane. League position: 10th Hull City had now lost consecutive home league games for the first time since May 2015. This was their heaviest home defeat since Arsenal's 4-0 win in the FA Cup on 8 March 2016. The Tigers had become the first club to select the same starting line-up in their first five games of a Premier League season since Aston Villa in 2008-09. Eldin Jakupovic saved Alexis Sanchez’s 41st minute penalty.

League position: 3rd Alexis Sanchez had now scored more goals against Hull City (six in five appearances) than any other opponent in his career in England. Theo Walcott's goal was the 100th in his career for club and country. The Gunners were now unbeaten in their last 26 Premier League games against newly-promoted teams since they lost at Queens Park Rangers in March 2012 (won 22).
