Comments:

League position: 2nd Huddersfield Town became the second newly-promoted team to keep a clean sheet in each of their three games in the Premier League (also Charlton Athletic in 1997-98). This was the first time since 1965-66 in League Division Two that the Terriers had kept a clean sheet in each of their opening three games of a league season. Town failed in their attempt to win their first three games of a top division season for the first time since 1924-25 when they went on to win the second of their three consecutive league titles. Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner said: "We have three clean sheets in the Premier League so I am very proud. We will go into this international break with a smile on our face. We wanted to show that we are brave. I am very happy."

League position: 6th Southampton were now unbeaten in the Premier League after three games of a season for only the second time (also 2003-04). Since the start of the 2015-16 season, they had now been involved in more goalless draws in the Premier League than any other team (12). The Saints had now failed to score in eight of their last 11 Premier League games. Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino said: "We have to think about what we can do to be better in the next game. We have to keep going. Huddersfield are now really high. They are in a good moment. We had chances in the last 15-20 minutes and put them under pressure. There were moments for us and moments for them."
