Comments:

League position: 8th This was Fulham's heaviest home defeat since the 4-0 loss to Newcastle United in the Premier League on 12 May 2019. Aleksandar Mitrović failed in his attempt to become the first player to score in a newly-promoted team's first four home games of a season in the top division since Peter Beardsley for Newcastle United in League Division One in 1984-85. Nathaniel Chalobah was shown a yellow card in the sixth minute but was upgraded to a red card following a VAR review. It became the Whites' quickest dismissal in the Premier League since Ian Pearce at Crystal Palace on 4 October 2004 (sixth minute).

Comments:

League position: 7th This was Newcastle United's biggest away win in the Premier League since a 4-1 victory at AFC Bournemouth (then managed by Eddie Howe) on 1 July 2020. This was the Magpies' first win in their last seven games in the Premier League (lost one). Their only wins in their preceding nine away games in the Premier League were at Norwich City and Burnley, who were both relegated at the end of the previous season.
