Comments:

League position: 11th This was the first time that Everton had conceded six or more goals in a game at Goodison Park since Chelsea’s 6-3 win in the Premier League on 30 August 2014. The Toffees remained without a win in their last 23 games in the Premier League against the big six teams since beating Manchester City on 15 January 2017 (lost 17). They had now won one of their last seven games in the Premier League (lost three). The last time that Everton won a home game after being two or more goals behind at half-time was on 14 January 1956 against Charlton Athletic in League Division One. [c/o Steve Johnson] Theo Walcott ended a run of 14 games in the Premier League without scoring; his longest such run since he failed to score in his first 30 career appearances in the competition from August 2006 to January 2008.

Comments:

League position: 3rd Tottenham Hotspur had now scored 40 goals in away games in the Premier League in 2018; six more than any other team. Spurs equalled the Premier League record for most games without a draw from the start of the season. Bolton Wanderers completed a draw-less run of 18 games from the start of the 2011-12 season. They had now won nine of their 11 away games so far in this Premier League season. Harry Kane had now scored 62 goals in away games in the Premier League since August 2014; 18 more than any other player. This was the first time that Spurs had scored six or more goals in a Premier League game since their 7-1 win at Hull City on 21 May 2017, which was current Everton boss Marco Silva’s final game in charge of the Tigers. This win meant that at least three teams had now gained 40 or points in the top division by Christmas for the first time since 1985-86 (Liverpool 48, Manchester City 44 and Spurs 42). Moussa Sissoko made his 100th appearance for Tottenham Hotspur in this game.
