League position: 11th Everton avoided losing three consecutive home games in the Premier League for the first time since October 2017. Jordan Pickford had now a kept a clean sheet in 50 games in all competitions for the Toffees. Mason Holgate became the first Everton substitute to be shown a red card in the Premier League since Lucas Digne at Huddersfield Town on 29 January 2019. Everton were awarded a penalty after 63 minutes for a foul but was reversed after a VAR review. Mason Holgate was initially shown a yellow card after 90 minutes but was upgraded to a red card following a VAR review.
