Comments:

Rafael Benítez became the second manager to have spells in charge of both Everton and Liverpool; previously William Barclay between 1888 and 1896. This was the first time that Everton had won a game in the Premier League after losing at half-time since September 2015 against West Bromwich Albion. Seamus Coleman became the sixth player to make 300 appearances in the Premier League for the Toffees.

Comments:

Ralph Hasenhüttl became the first manager to take charge of 100 games in the Premier League for Southampton (won 35, lost 45). The Saints had now lost 16 of their last 22 games in the Premier League (won four). They scored in their opening game for the first time in the last five seasons in the Premier League.
