Kick-off: 4.00pm Following a plane crash on Monday 28 November in Colombia that killed 71, a minute's silence was held before every football match this weekend. Football's world governing body FIFA also requested that all players wear black armbands in remembrance. Nineteen of the dead were members of the Chapecoense Football Club from Brazil on their way to play the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final in Medelin, Colombia. Everton had won three of the preceding four Premier League games against Manchester United at Goodison Park.

Along with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotpsur, the Toffees remained as one of only three teams with an unbeaten home record so far in this Premier League season.
