Comments:

England had now scored five or more goals in three games in 2019. It was the first time they had achieved this feat in a year since 1960. This was the first time that England had conceded more than two goals in a home win since 20 November 1963 when they beat Northern Ireland 8-3 at Wembley in the British Home Championship. Valon Berisha's goal was the first goal scored inside the first minute of an England game since 22 May 2003 when current manager Gareth Southgate scored against South Africa in Durban after 36 seconds. Jadon Sancho becomes the first player born in the year 2000 or later to score a senior international goal for the Three Lions. Harry Kane had a penalty saved on 65 minutes. Excluding shoot-outs, this was the second time that England had failed to convert a penalty in their last 24 attempts.

Comments:

Kosovo became the first visiting team to score three goals or more in a senior international in England since Croatia in November 2007. Valon Berisha's opening goal was timed at 34 seconds. It became the quickest goal conceded by England since 17 November 1993 when San Marino's Davide Gualtieri scored in a World Cup qualifier after eight seconds. Kosovo had remained unbeaten in their 15 preceding games since October 2017. It had been the current longest unbeaten run amongst European nations. Manager Bernard Challandes was shown a yellow card for dissent after 38 minutes.
