Comments:

League position: 12th Crystal Palace failed in their attempt to win three consecutive London derbies in the Premier League for the first time. This was the Eagles second defeat in their last nine games in the Premier League (won six). They failed to score for the first time in their last nine games in the Premier League. Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce said: "Outstanding team effort by the players, who have had less time to recover against an exceptionally good side. Our application was outstanding and we gave Tottenham a hell of a game in the first-half, nip and tuck, but of course it would happen that we would tire given the lack of recovery time compared to Tottenham."

Comments:

League position: 2nd Tottenham Hotspur had now won eight consecutive league games for the third time in their history (also in 1950 and 1960). They went on to become the league champions in both those previous seasons. Spurs had now achieved a new club record of 74 points in a Premier League season and still had five games to play. They had now lost one of their last 18 games in the Premier League (won 15). Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "It was unbelievable. Very good performance. I think second-half we played much better than in the first-half. It was difficult in the first-half for us to move the ball and find the space but we changed the shape at half-time and it was more fluid, we started to find the space and started to push Palace deeper and deeper."
