League position: 11th Southampton had now won one of their seven away games so far in this Premier League season. This was the Saints' heaviest defeat in a Premier League away game since a 1-4 loss at Manchester City on 5 April 2014. Only Jose Fonte played in both games. They had now scored only two goals in their last five Premier League games.
