League position: 6th Crystal Palace scored five goals in a Premier League game for the first time. The only other time they had scored three goals in the first-half of a Premier League game was against Queens Park Rangers on 14 March 2015 (won 3-1). It was the first time they had scored five goals in a game since a 5-0 success against Ipswich Town in the League Championship on 6 November 2012. The Eagles had won only three of their previous 11 Premier League home matches (lost seven). This was former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew's 100th win as a manager in the Premier League. He became the sixth English manager to reach this milestone after Harry Redknapp, Sam Allardyce, Kevin Keegan, Steve Bruce and Alan Curbishley. James McArthur scored in the third minute of added time in the second half. The Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Panel ruled on the following: - Crystal Palace’s first goal against Newcastle United on Saturday 28th November 2015 has been confirmed as a James McArthur goal. (Circular 11 – 3rd December 2015)

Comments:

League position: 19th Newcastle United had now conceded at least two goals in ten of their 14 Premier League games so far in 2015-16. As they slipped into the bottom three, United had now taken only ten points from the 14 games so far in this Premier League season. It was their lowest total at this stage during the competition's history. Their win at AFC Bournemouth in their previous away game ended a run of 12 Premier League away games without a win (lost ten).
