The Eagles had now won two of their last three home games in the Premier League; as many as they won their preceding ten games in the division at Selhurst Park.

Comments:

League position: 18th Matchwinner Jordan Ayew became the 39th player to score both for and against Aston Villa in the Premier League; only West Ham United now had more such players.
