Comments:

League position: 4th Chelsea avoided losing three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since November 2015. Michy Batshuayi had now scored in each of his three Premier League appearances against Watford. He had now scored six goals in his last nine appearances in the Premier League after netting one in his previous 17 games. Keeper Thibaut Courtois made his 100th Premier League appearance in this game (36 clean sheets). Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said: "I feel a lot of pressure but never the pressure that the club might sack me. When I go home, I'm happy because I know I'm putting in 150 per cent for my club and my players. When you concede seven goals in the last three games you have to try to understand and to try to improve. You have to continue to work."

Comments:

League position: 5th Watford had now conceded exactly four goals on each of their last three Premier League visits to London (0-4 v Tottenham Hotspur, 3-4 v Chelsea and 2-4 v Chelsea). Prior to this game, five of the Hornets' 13 goals so far in this Premier League season had been scored after the 85th minute. They had scored in the 90th minute or later in each of their preceding three games in the Premier League. Watford manager Marco Silva said: "It’s a really unfair result. I think we didn’t deserve the result even if we took only one point I think it is not fair to us. It is football. We played more in the second-half but even how we played first-half we started very well."
