League position: 10th Southampton failed in their attempt to win three consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since the last three games of the 2015-16 season. Only Leicester City's Jamie Vardy (28) had now scored more goals in the Premier League since the start of the previous season than Danny Ings (26). Theo Walcott made his first appearance for the Saints since a 1-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers in the League Championship on 14 January 2006.
