League position: 1st Premier League leaders Chelsea remained the only team in the top four divisions without a home defeat in the 2014-15 season but had now drawn three consecutive home games in all competitions for the first time since November 2012. They have now opened the scoring in all 16 of their Premier League games since their visit to Southampton on 28 December 2014. The Blues had now lost only one of their last 12 Premier League games against the Saints.

Comments:

League position: 6th Southampton became only the second team to avoid defeat in both their Premier League games gainst Chelsea in 2014-15. The other was second-in-the-table Manchester City. The Saints had now conceded 11 goals in their away games in the Premier League in this season; five fewer than any other team.
