League position: 1st With three games to play, Chelsea were now seven points clear at the top of the table. They now needed one more win to clinch the title. The Blues had now kept clean sheets in consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since January 2017. This was their 300th home win in the Premier League. Only Manchester United (347) and Arsenal (305) had won more. Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said: "We must be pleased. It was a great performance, my players showed commitment and work-rate for three important points. At this stage it was important to win and exploit Tottenham's defeat. Now, another step to the title. We have to rest well and prepare for West Brom."

Comments:

League position: 19th This result confirmed Middlesbrough's relegation to the League Championship. It was the fourth time they had been relegated from the Premier League so equalling the competition record along with Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Sunderland. Boro were now without a win in their last 17 away games in the Premier League. In this game, George Friend made his 200th appearance for Boro while Ben Gibson made his 200th club career appearance. Middlesbrough caretaker manager Steve Agnew: "I am absolutely gutted and bitterly disappointed with the result and we have now lost our Premier League status which we took great pride in. We haven't had enough wins and that's the key to the whole thing. Scoring goals wins football matches and we haven't done that enough this season."
