League position: 4th Chelsea had now lost seven home games in a season in all competitions for the first time since 1994-95. They had now completed a run of four games without a win in the Premier League for the first time since May 2016. The Blues had now kept two clean sheets in their last 15 games in the Premier League. Kurt Zouma scored after 55 minutes but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to a foul on a Manchester United defender. Olivier Giroud scored after 77 minutes but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review due to an offside decision.

League position: 7th Manchester United avoided losing their first three away league games of a year for the first time since 1981. United avoided failing to score in four consecutive league games for the first time since April 1989 in League Division One.
