Comments:

League position: 4th Chelsea avoided losing their opening two home games of a league season for the first time since 1978-79 in League Division One. Ben Chilwell became the 23rd player to score on his debut for the Blues in the Premier League. Jorginho had now scored ten of the 11 penalties he had taken for Chelsea in all competitions.

Comments:

League position: 9th In their 800th game in the top division, Crystal Palace had now lost 200 of their 430 games in the Premier League (won 124). This was the first time that Palace had conceded four or more goals in one half of a game in the Premier League since a 4-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur on 14 September 2019 (all conceded in the first half). Joel Ward became the third player to make 200 appearances for the Eagles in the Premier League after Wilfried Zaha (205) and James McArthur (201).
