The Confederation of African Football (CAF) ruled on 22 March 2021 that this game would be forfeited by Chad and awarded a 3–0 win for Namibia.
Due to political involvement contravening the competition regulations, a CAF statement read: "Following the suspension of the Chadian Football Federation by the Chadian Ministry of Youth and Sports, CAF has decided to disqualify the national team of Chad from the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2021.”
