Kick-off 5.00pm local (9.00pm BST) Neymar was at his mercurial best as Brazil eased to a win over troubled Cameroon to finish top of Group A. The iconic forward took full advantage of a shaky defence in Brasilia with a first-half double coming either side Joel Matip's shock leveller. Brazil ultimately progressed with a degree of comfort. Fred and substitute Fernandinho adding further goals after the break to secure a last-16 tie against fellow Chile. In the group's other closing fixture, Mexico were victorious against Croatia but failed to make up a goal-difference as the hosts retained top spot. While a routine triumph, in which Neymar took his tournament tally to four goals, provided encouragement, Brazil continued to struggle to convince that they will prevail in their home tournament.

A very entertaining first half ends as it started with Brazil on the attack but score stays at 2-1 for Brazil. Brazil start the second half as they did the first, very high tempo and a goal from Fred from a David Luiz cross on 49 minutes. Television replays show Fred was a touch off side but the goal stood.
