Comments:

League position: 12th Burnley had now won only one of their last seven home games in the Premier League games (lost four). In their two Premier League games so far in this season, the Clarets had seen their opponents receive three red cards in total. Burnley failed in their attempt to win their opening two games of a top division season for the first time since 1973. Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: "The game is unfair sometimes and today I thought it was. We gave a very good performance, we created enough to get something from the game. I have been very pleased. It is a tough one today because I was not happy with the result but I was happy with the performance."

League position: 2nd West Bromwich Albion had now won their opening two games of a top division season for the first time since 1978-79 in League Division One. The Baggies had now kept clean sheets in consecutive Premier League games for the first time since 24 October 2015. 15 of Abion's 31 Premier League wins under manager Tony Pulis had now been by a 1-0 scoreline. Hal Robson-Kanu was sent-off after 83 minutes for violent conduct. However, his subsequent claim for wrongful dismissal was upheld and the red card withdrawn. West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis said: "It is a great start for us, especially with two clean sheets. I've not looked at the red card incident. I don't want to say things that will get me in trouble. The decisions stands. I am so pleased we got through that final 15 minutes with ten men."
