Comments:

League position: 17th After 13 games, Burnley had now conceded 27 goals in this Premier League season. It wasn’t until their 31st game of the 2017-18 season (at West Bromwich Albion on 31 March 2018) that they conceded their 27th goal. The Clarets had now won one of their last nine home games in the Premier League (lost six). With nine points from their first 13 games, they had now made their worst start to a league season since 1979-80 when they had five points at this stage in League Division Two. Matt Lowton made his 100th league appearance for Burnley and the 250th of his senior career.

Comments:

League position: 13th After failing to win any of their first ten league games of this season, Newcastle United had now won three consecutive games in the Premier League for the first time since April 2018. The Magpies' opening goal (three minutes and 35 seconds) was their earliest goal in an away game in the Premier League since Yohan Cabaye scored at Sunderland on 21 October 2012 (two minutes and ten seconds). Their last 13 Premier League games played on a Monday had now all been played away from home (won two, lost 11).
