League position: 8th Burnley were now without a win in their last eight games in all competitions, including seven in the Premier League. The Clarets had now lost three consecutive home games in the Premier League for the first time since 1 May 2010. They had now lost their opening four competitive games of a year for the first time since 1987 when they were in League Division Four.
