The Clarets remained without a home win in the Premier League since the visit of Sheffield United on 29 December 2020; longer than any other team currently in the division. This was their biggest defeat at Turf Moor since the 5-1 loss to Everton in the Premier League on 26 December 2018. Burnley named eight of a possible nine substitutes.
